John Sheppard and Nikita Mears
"Sometimes they do," he tells her with a bit of a smile. After all, he'd been friends with Nancy before they'd even gotten married. Nikita was right. They didn't need that pressure of trying to find the perfect match. He was a bit surprised that people even did that. It wasn't something that he could see himself doing. Friends, yes. Love at first sight and finding the perfect match just wasn't in the cards.
"We were married for a few years, divorced in 2004 before I went off on one of my missions," he states simply. Honestly, Nancy was happier now and he was content with his job. So, it all worked out for the both of them. That was how they both saw it and they were civil with one another. He gives her a soft smile, however, when he's thanked for his service.
He watches her for a moment," How was it your fault, if you don't mind me asking?"
