A moment's hesitation, because it was Rusty's story to tell but at the same time, he trusted Dorian. "Without every single detail... Rusty lived on the streets for a couple years, wound up living with his legal guardian because she was serving as protection while he was a material witness waiting for a murder trial. Sharon wound up adopting him, he was a fairly normal kid for a few years, pretty basic story there. And a couple months before I ended up here, she died after having a heart attack while at work. He was there, was the one that called 911."
That was the part he wasn't particularly looking forward to telling the teenager.
