Working at the Boys Club was a lot different from pharmaceutical sales and Gus was surprised to find that he enjoyed it as much as he did. He credited that to Deacon Jones and often asked himself what the older man would do in any given situation if he wasn't sure what to do. On Fridays, he allowed himself to take a longer lunch break and would actually go out to enjoy a meal. Today, he was in a good mood. Things with Martha were going well, she hadn't shown any signs of being insane like most of his previous girlfriends, and though he was worried about how Shawn was doing without Juliet, he couldn't really complain much about his life here.
He'd chosen The Red Pepper today and was enjoying his Vampire Slayer Grilled Panini sandwich, when he noticed a man in another booth who seemed to be very interested in what was going on around him. While he normally left the detective stuff to Shawn, it piqued Gus's curiosity, so he started watching the man, wondering if he might be up to no good. If so, maybe he could get Shawn and his employer to investigate him.
Of course, he was so busy watching the other man that he didn't notice right away when he started watching Gus in return.
