Who: Kaa & Kenzi What: A Very Kaa and Kenzi Kristmas When: Christmas Where: His apartment Warnings: Sexy thoughts Status: Completed GDoc
Christmas Eve. It wasn’t Kaa’s holiday, but even he couldn’t deny the charm of the night. His apartment was decorated within an inch of its life. There was a live tree, also decorated all shiny and gold. A fire was burning in the fireplace, and electric heaters were placed inconspicuously to keep the place at a tropical level of warm. It allowed him to wear the loose silk clothes of his people. White pants and shirt with gold trim. A deep V cut in the shirt showed off his chest, and his feet were bare.
He was seeing to the beverages: hot tea with fermented honey or a traditional hot toddy. Pastries, fruits and small pieces of meat were on a platter on the coffee table. There was a gift under the tree all wrapped up and waiting for Kenzi. Now all he needed was for her to arrive.
Kenzi was dressed like she didn’t know what the weather was. She had on a white crop top and red pants along with killer boots and some red in her hair to go with the season. She had on a big parka, though, because it was cold out. She knew enough that once she got into Kaa’s apartment, she’d be shedding the warmth and even the hot boots, so she dressed for the inside and just put up with the freezing as much as she had to.
She had a gift bag in one arm and a bottle of wine she stole from Vex’s wine cupboard. As she knocked, she was already smiling. She was in a very good mood and she figured it would only get better.
Kaa answered the door right away with a big smile of his own for seeing his lady standing there. “Darling,” he said as he reached out to take the bottle of wine from Kenzi, only so he could tuck it under his arm then lift her hand to press a kiss to her fingers. His eyes never left hers however. “You look stunning.”
He led her in with her hand still in his, only releasing it when he needed to shut the door. “I trust you have had a pleasant day.” Kaa took the wine to the kitchen. “Please, make yourself at home.”
He had floor pillows, blankets and plush rugs arranged around the coffee table for them, instead of chairs. Kaa felt this would be vastly more intimate and cozy.
He always had such a way with him. Someone else might have totally come off as cheesy or as some douchebag trying to be slick, but Kaa didn’t. Everything he did made Kenzi just want to lean in and say more.
She shrugged off her jacket and set it aside before moving further into the apartment. She liked the heat. You wouldn’t even know it was winter outside, which was nice. “Best part of my day’s just starting.” Kenzi grinned as she moved to sit down on one of the pillows after depositing her gift bag next to the present she saw under the tree. “But I can say it’s been bad if that means I get extra attention.”
Kaa chuckled as he brought in a tray with tea and the hot toddys. “My dear, you do not need to lie to get as much attention as I can give you.” Somehow he managed to kiss her cheek as he set the tray down on the coffee table. “You deserve to be treated like a queen.”
He sat down beside her, one hand behind her so he was as close as possible without being in her lap. “Those are tea with nothing in them.” He pointed to one teapot then the other. “And those are hot toddys. They have a little extra kick.”
Kenzi went right for the hot toddy. She liked tea just fine, but things with an extra kick were more her jam. She took a cautionary sip first, then when her mouth didn’t burn, she took a better sip. “Mmmm tastes good.” She leaned in to kiss him on the cheek. “Okay, so I don’t have lie for extra attention. I don’t have to steal for money. You know most of my life mottos are just flying out the window now, right?” She grinned, mostly joking.
Every kiss she gave him was a gift from the gods. Kaa glorified in them which was obvious by the cat in a sunbeam smile on his face. He chuckled for her “complaint”. “You have plenty of other vices that I entirely endorse, darling.” Like how enthusiastic she was as a sexual partner.
“There are delicacies I thought you might like,” he leaned into her as he pointed them out. “Baklava. Tiny cheesecakes. Bitesized pastries. Figs. Fruits.” This time it was he that kissed her cheek.
"Those all sound so good." Kenzi could be made happy with booze and food and when you added in some good sex there was really nothing else she needed. She was a simple woman and that suited her just fine.
“All of those things need to be in my belly right now.” She decided to get on her hands and knees and semi-crawl to the food that wasn’t far away, but she wasn’t about to throw away a perfect opportunity to wiggle her butt in front of Kaa. She came back with a bite-sized pastry and popped it in her mouth. She closed her eyes and made a happy humming sound, opening her eyes and mumbling her response. She swallowed, then repeated herself. “These are the best. Always feels like I’m sticking it to all the rich people who never invite people like me to their parties when I get to eat these.” Because they always seemed to be served at the fancy parties.
Kaa never passed up an opportunity to admire Kenzi’s posterior. He gave a contented sigh as he smiled. He was being good, however, and not touching such beauty before him. That would come later. He would prefer they eat and exchange gifts before they exchanged the living room for the bedroom.
He plucked a fig up for himself and chuckled as he bit into it. “I never liked the caste system. In India they believe that people have the wealth they do because of deeds done in previous lives. They are working their way to a higher life. But it gets abused so often, and in this country, it seems wealth is used as a form of power.”
“Wait, so you are poor and then you have to wait to die to get less poor?” She made a face. “Okay, so, I know Fae exist and all that, but how likely is reincarnation for an average human? I mean like, apparently that happens to me, but only because Bo breaks into Valhalla to get me out. As far as I know, it’s like, a one-way trip.” At least Western Culture pretended like you could get rich with hard work.
Kaa shrugged a shoulder as he reached for a pastry. “That is what some people in India believe,” he said as he held the treat before Kenzi’s lips. “You earn your way into a better life by learning lessons and being kind. You are trying to achieve moksha, the ultimate realization of self which releases you from the cycle to final bliss.”
It wasn’t certain whether he believed in that or not. He simply stated the knowledge.
She leaned forward and tried to be cute or sexy while taking it in her mouth, but she had no idea if she actually succeeded. At the very least, it tasted delicious. “Pretty sure I know the answer to final bliss. It’s you and me in bed with a bunch of these tiny pastry thingies.” She didn’t even know what was inside, but she liked them.
“Okay, enough religious stuff because that can give me a headache.” Said the girl who sometimes prayed in Russian so she wouldn’t die. “How about we open gifts? Or do I need to trick you into it with some sort of clever ruse thing?” She smiled playfully.
Kaa grinned for Kenzi’s definition of heavenly bliss. He wasn’t going to argue with that, and he always thought she was cute and sexy. “Maybe Santa could see to it that tomorrow morning we stay in bed with these little pastry things.” Instead of a pastry at her lips, he stole a kiss.
He laughed. “I get the impression you want to be clever and tricky. If it would make you happy I am entirely open to being duped.”
“Alright then.” She smiled wide and then wiggled her eyebrows as him. “You need to close your eyes. And no peeking you I’m going to return your gift.” One of them, anyway. She was wearing the other one and you weren’t allowed to return lingerie, festive or not.
She gave him a faux expression of seriousness as she stood up and moved behind him. “Think you can find me with your eyes closed?” It was a challenge. She purposefully brush against the tree to make it rustle and then moved to find a better hiding space, though so also conveniently had her gift to him in her hand again. She decided to stand in the corner across the room - he had his eyes closed, after all.
Kaa’s chuckle was decidedly naughty. “Oh, I think I am up for the challenge.” She probably should have remembered how snakes hunt. Most of them didn’t use their eyes, but they detected heat. He stood up, closed his eyes then took in a deep breath.
He wasn’t going to ruin her fun, however. He knew where she was, but the fact was, he didn’t know for sure where everything else was so he still had to feel his way around the pillows, the table, the tree, etc. Still, he made for the corner she was in with a grin on his face.
It never even crossed Kenzi’s mind that he had an unfair advantage and maybe him being extra careful made it seem like for a moment he was actually having a hard time finding her. When he did come up to her, she was smiling too. She gasped dramatically and then held out the bag so it would touch Kaa’s hand. “Oh no! You’ve seem to find your gift first. Guess you’ll just have to open it now.” She said it in a faux ‘oh darn’ sound.
Inside were a few things - some massage oils, some edible body paint, and a card. Inside the card was a picture of a fancy heated blanket with the words ‘coming soon’ written on it. “The last one they had was broken at the store and the guy assured me it’d be restocked in time and of course it wasn’t, but it’s coming -” or so help that guy in the store “ - and it’s supposed to get really hot and stay that way and feel nice and… yeah.” God, she hoped it wasn’t super lame.
“I win!” Kaa said like a little kid. He had slid an arm around Kenzi’s waist, however, and claimed a kiss before opening anything. He would have been content with just getting kisses from her as his gifts, but what he found made him grin at her. “Are you certain these aren’t for you, darling?”
But the promise of the blanket made him sigh wistfully. “I shall never emerge from my bed until summer!” Not true. He liked working since it allowed him to make money so he could spoil his lady.
Speaking of, he kissed her once more then retrieved her gift.
Kenzi opened it and inhaled sharply. She playfully smacked Kaa on the shoulder. “Kaa! You can’t just go get me something this awesome and not tell me beforehand. My presents definitely pale in comparison. I’m going to have to find a way to make this up.” She pouted, but she was definitely mostly happy as she leaned over and planted another kiss on him. “Thank you. And thank you for reminding me you’re way better at this and I need to up my game to compete with you.”
Kaa chuckled, but allowed her to get her protests out. After her kiss and thanks, he put his finger to her lips to shush her. “You deserve this and more.” He took out the necklace to place it around her neck, his voice right next to her ear. “All the jewels in the world lose their shine compared to you, my love.” Once the clasp was set he placed a light kiss to her neck then stepped out in front of her to have a look.
“A goddess, truly.”
Kenzi wasn’t a big blusher, but she did tonight. She blushed and looked down at her chest for a moment before looking back up and her smile could be described as beaming. “You really know how to make a girl feel special.” And that was something Kenzi didn’t have a lot of experience. Hale had tried, but they had spent so much time pretending they didn’t have feelings, they missed a lot of that.
She looked at him, feeling suddenly warm all over. “Can I convince you to take me to bed now?” They could always eat later, right?
Kaa grinned as he took Kenzi’s hand then bowed over it to place a kiss to her knuckles. “I am your slave,” he said as he began to back up toward the bedroom. “Ask and it is yours.” He did make sure to grab those interesting bottles she’d given him to take with them.
