Who: Xavier and Open What: Random interactions with an invisible ghost guy When: Tuesday afternoon Where: That Book Place Rating: Language, TBD
Xavier didn't know what to make of his new predicament. He had been stuck so long at the decaying wet blanket that had been Camp Redwood that the thought of having so many amenities at his fingertips was daunting to say the least, even more so that they were 21st century amenities. Luckily, it hadn't been that much of a culture shock due to the news from the outside that Jingles Jr had brought, along with a few remaining 'thrill seekers' in the final year he had spent at Redwood.
Old habits died hard and he left the apartment (he had an actual apartment, no more shitty cabins) without the coat he had bought from one of the clothing stores the day of his arrival. Not worrying about appearances as he was playing it incognito today. No one would be the wiser.
Navigating through the shopping crowds on the sidewalks with ease, Xavier took advantage and blinked out of existence a few times during the trip to the store, reappearing a half a block or so down out of the way of some of the more boisterous shoppers. To the sensitive and psychic-minded, it would've been a shocking sight, but to the layman it went unnoticed.
Stepping up to the door of the bookshop, he surveyed the crowd of people impatiently, arms crossed over his chest. Noting a middle-aged couple coming towards the shop, their large dog on a leash in the man's hand, Xavier watched as the woman kissed the man's cheek and veered off towards the bookshop. Grumbling out a "fucking finally" under his breath, he watched as she stepped up onto the stoop, unknowingly inches from him. The man held the dog's leash as it strained to follow the woman, causing Xavier to roll his eyes and smirk. Leaning down, he focused on the dog, barking at it, the dog whinging and retreating behind the man with its tail between its legs.
Satisfied, Xavier straightened and as the woman opened the door to the shop. Quickly, with practiced ease, he slipped inside after her as the door closed slowly, heading towards the true crime section.
