Steve & Scott
Scott himself wasn't a child, nor was he responsible for a sudden child this week or so. But Darcy was a child, and it was her birthday party. Even though she likely didn't know who he was, he knew who she was. That's what was important, right? He had to be there for his friend, regardless of whether his friend was aware of his existence.
And he thought that maybe there needed to be more adults at the party. To help keep an eye on the kids. He could do that.
Scott had just arrived at the party, and spotted Steve almost immediately. "Hey," he offered as he approached. "Interesting week, isn't it?" He had become accustomed to Madison Valley throwing strange and unusual things at the refugees. But he knew Steve was still relatively new here. "Kids keeping you on your toes?"
