Luke nodded when Dean explained the house was just normal. He suddenly felt a little bad for mentioning the penthouse.
"I wasn't trying to brag. I just meant I'm used to living with a lot of people so that'll be great. It's better than being alone, that's for sure. Like my nanny once said... it feels like a party every day. Obviously, it can't be fun and games all the time but it's definitely not boring, I guess is what I'm trying to get at."
He was starting to feel like he was putting his foot in his mouth and Dean would change his mind about letting him stay. When Dean reached out and touselled his hair, however, he didn't feel as worried. Maybe things were still okay.
"That's good to know. I really love my food!" He was glad to know food wouldn't be an issue. It was also nice of Dean to pay for their dinner. "Thanks."
As Dean explained about the other people living in the house, Luke nodded. "Sounds like my siblings and me. That's actually reassuring to know. And I can't wait to meet her."
He did wonder if there was more to this Mary than Dean was letting on but he figured if Dean wanted him to know, he'd tell him. They did just meet, after all, and Luke was just some kid. He couldn't blame his new guardian for wanting to keep things vague, for the moment at least.
