Caroline Forbes and Open
Despite her actual lack of love in the romance department, Caroline was actually was a fan of romantic movies. When she heard that Casablanca would be playing at the park that evening, she decided to check it out. She brought herself a blanket and an extra sweater for around her shoulders...even though the cold itself didn't affect her anymore--it felt wrong to go out in fall without wearing a sweater.
After settling on one of those cocktails that Melinda had made special for the night, Caroline headed back to her blanket and took a seat. Legs curled beneath her, Caroline sipped on her drink, green-blue eyes focused on the screen and the black and white images flickering across it. She felt a pang of sadness in her heart; her mom would watch old stuff like this with her. Damn it. Caroline swallowed the lump in her throat and suddenly wished she had a shot of bourbon to make it go down easier. There wasn't a day that went by that she didn't miss her mom. Caroline took another sip from her drink and tried to focus on scene in front of her and less on the burning sensation behind her eyes.
