"I know right. I'd say sorry, but, I'm not, so." He shrugged. Shosanna made him ridiculously happy, and he wasn't the least bit ashamed of that fact.
"I know how it is when you lose employees," Sam said. He might not own or even manage the club, he left that to Sara even when they were together. He didn't want to be in charge. He saw enough, though. And he knew how it affected the employees who remained when several left at once.
"And speaking of that, I should get moving so I'm not late for the clock in." He didn't want to make a habit of being late, or expecting Sara to let it slide. She wouldn't, so it was better to avoid the situation entirely.
