Llew was in what used to be Shadow’s office, and now hers, at Combat Therapy. She was tired, she had been pulling double duty lately because she felt like getting extra money in her pockets for Christmas.
She'd gotten up early to do payroll for Combat, and now she was sucking down a coffee like it was a life blood. She needed to go out and scare people soon, her well of faith was low and she was feeling it. Or she needed her boyfriend to be happy to see her in her normal form. That also worked.
Adam knew that Llew had been up and at the gym early, so when he rolled in, he brought fresh coffee and a breakfast sandwich with him. He popped his head into her office and held out the bag. “I come bearing reinforcements,” he said.
Working together was going much better than he’d anticipated. In fact, he found that he rather enjoyed it. Combat Therapy was a good use of his skills.
She perked up at that, "Oh, my boyfriend is a savior." She grinned, eyes half closing, "Coffee and breakfast, how did you know I skipped food on the way in?" She tossed her pen aside and leaned back in her chair.
She has been a little worried working together was gonna be a problem, but it was going well. They were capable of keeping things professional and lighthearted, a nice balance. She liked that.
“I may have met you once or twice,” Adam joked, entering the office so he could hand over the goodies. “You know, you could hire someone to do the books for you instead of trying to do it all on your own.”
Some people were excellent at that sort of thing. He was not one of them, but he knew they existed.
Llew feigned looking shocked, "Have you? Are you sure?" She made grabby hands at the goodies, food reverted her to being five, really it was fine. She was just hungry. "Feed me!" She grinned.
"I could, but I like having my own paycheck." She smirked a little, things weren't bad, but it was still new, things were precarious and she didn't want to let anything happen to this place.
Though he had already eaten his breakfast, Adam still had half a cup of coffee plus some time before his first session, so he sat down and joined her while she ate. “I know you do,” he said. “Which you could still earn by teaching classes and doing more one-on-one sessions.”
He wasn’t going to push it, but he did want to make sure that he knew he would support whatever decisions she made.
"We'll see how it goes. I'm much better at patching people up than teaching them. That's not my skill." She sat back to take a bite of her sandwich, eyes closing. Food good, coffee great.
"Mmm breakfast." She laughed, "How busy is your day?" She asked as she stretched then took another bite.
It was true that she did better at the doctoring though luckily those skills weren’t needed too often. “Uh, let me check,” Adam said, pulling out his phone so he could review his schedule. “Not too bad. Session at 11, classes at 3 and 6.” Other than that, he’d be around in case they had any walk-ins looking for private training.
“How about you? What’s on the agenda after payroll?” he asked.
She was a doctor first, then a combat person second. She was skilled, but she was a horrible teacher. Her skills were all innate - they were mostly not something to be taught. “That’s not too bad.” she looked at her own phone.
“I have to go order med supplies after this, then mostly just babysitting the danger room until after lunch when I have a short shift at the clinic.” she did enjoy being busy even if it meant she was often on the move all day. “But a pretty quiet day”.
“Late dinner after your clinic shift?” Adam suggested. “I can come to your place and bring something.” It seemed like he was spending more and more time at her place these days, which wasn’t a bad thing at all.
“Are you seducing me with food today? Cause if so, I am very much here for it.” she grinned at him as she polished off her sandwich, “Also, that’s a yes, please come on by.” Llew smirked a little bit, she didn’t mind him spending more time with her.
Though she was beginning to think she ought to get out of the apartments and find someplace better to spend time at. She’d been there… however long she’d been here and it might be nice to not be around everyone else, either.
Adam laughed. “I’ll seduce you however I can,” he said. “Between you working two jobs and me working and guarding Lissa, I feel like we don’t get to spend as much time together as I’d like.” They tried to coordinate things, but it didn’t always work out that way.
The thought of them getting a place together had crossed his mind once or twice, though he wasn’t sure if that would be too much, especially now that they worked at the same place.
Llewellyn smiled a little wistfully, “I like the sound of that.” she picked up her coffee to drink from and then raked a hand through her hair, tugging the strands. “I know, I really work too much for my own good. I don’t get to see you as often as I’d like.” and some nights she was just too tired to either trek there or drag him over to her place.
Maybe this wasn’t the time or place to bring it up, but Adam decided to go for it. “We could look for a place together,” he suggested. “That would help a little.” They’d still both be busy, but at least they’d have the same home base which would be easier than either of them schlepping themselves and their things back and forth.
Llew stopped with her coffee half back to her lips, then set it down as she looked at him, she’d already lost track of how long they’d actually been dating, but it had been long enough for that to actually be a viable thing to think about.
“That might not be a bad idea.” she folded her arms under her chest and tucked one leg over the other, “It would be nice to not have to drag one or the other between our places when we’ve had a long day. And you’d get to wake up to me.” she grinned.
“Now finding time to look for a place is a whole different story,” Adam joked. “But maybe if we start now, we can find something before the new year.” They moved kind of slow in all aspects of their relationship, so why should this be any different.
Well, they really didn’t need to rush anything. “You’re giving us too much credit - that’s what? Four months? That’s too fast.” she teased him as she looked up at him. “Though, I think, I’d rather find something before then. I hate moving anything in the snow.”
Adam smirked. “Even if I can melt it easily?” HIs powers were extra handy in the winter time.
The alarm on his cell phone dinged and he sighed. “Okay, guess I better get cracking. Don’t want to upset the boss.” He stood and leaned over to steal a quick kiss.
“Yes, cause then we’d be wet and gross.” she said honestly, before leaning over to return the kiss warmly before laughing. “Shoo, get to work slacker.” she winked before flipping her laptop back open, she had work to do too.
