Wade was a man about town that Saturday afternoon. First stop on his Madison Valley world tour was the doggie bakery.
Having already looked through the bargain bins of dog outfits, Wade was well past bowls and other assorted accessories when he realized somewhere in the back of his big ole happy pile of brain matter that he didn't own a dog. Well, it wasn't for lack of trying, but after he had forgotten to water his potted fern, Henry, he had found Henry in a cupboard all shriveled up and dry as a camel on an all-sodium diet. Probably wasn't a good idea to trust himself with a doggo. He had Gally at home and hadn't killed him yet, so progress? Fatherhood looked good on Wade, but he was dreading the day when Gally would turn 18 and move out on his lonesome, leaving Wade alone.. Again.
Opening up the door of a plastic bakery display, Wade removed a fancy dog cookie in the shape of a hydrant, giving it an unsure sniff. "Um, excuse me?! Is this made from real dog or is this like a tofu sort of thing? Asking for a friend!"
