Life was strangely, unbelievably mellow for Morales and that was okay. Things were good for him in town, between his job and his ward and the fact that he was seeing someone. Well, for a very loose definition of it -- he wasn't exactly sure what you'd call things between him and Dorian, other than something he was interested in exploring. Things were casual between them so far, but after getting out of a relationship he'd been in for nearly a decade? That was fine with him.
He'd spent most of the day running one errand or another, and his last stop was at the Madison Valley Creamery -- not that he and Anne needed ice cream, not really, but even though he wouldn't necessarily admit it he did enjoy spoiling the young woman just slightly. The fact that they got along so well didn't change the fact that he didn't particularly want children, but he was absolutely fine with more or less being the cool uncle sort of parental figure.
Which meant that yes, yes he was indeed trying to make the surprisingly complicated decision as to what to bring home to Anne. Considering she'd try just about anything once, it really didn't help him make a decision. He was not above asking people for their opinions if he had to.
Or if he felt like it, given the way he turned to the person next to him and asked, "So, what's your favorite flavor? I've got a teenage girl at home who's distressingly not picky. It's not as helpful as you'd think."
