Prior to her life in Madison, and even the first three years of her life here, Sonya kept her day, if not fully structured, was heavy with routine. More than just a hangover of her time in the military, routine was comforting, it grounded her.
Yet, even she couldn't deny, especially now that Cassie was a little older, a break from routine wasn't a bad thing. A day or two just spending the day around town (least for the afternoon) would catch her daughter's interest, and perhaps her own. She had no real intention of buying anything, but for once, just window shopping. If by chance, either she or Cassie felt a shop was worth the time (within reason of course given her daughter's age), then they would check it out; whether they bought anything or not was besides the point.
At some point, they stopped by the music shop; or rather, she did, holding Cassie by the hand to keep her from wandering off. In her life, the most musical she'd ever gotten was a stint in choir at the military academy. Her time traveling meant even if she wished to play something, it would've been something she could carry around; and those instruments didn't hold much interest for her.
She wasn't movie in Madison Valley though, and thought what could it hurt to look.
"Cassie," She eyed her daughter's unimpressed face. "We'll stop by here for a bit, then go to the library and borrow either a few books or dvd. Deal?"
A few second and her daughter nodded, not entirely happy, but resigned.
