Henry was trying in Madison Valley. Really, truly trying. That was saying something for the King of England. He had never had to try with anything in his life, but here? Here he had to actually work for a living. Doing something other than being the King. He'd never had any sort of education for anything that translated well for supporting himself. Let alone a four-year-old girl. If he hadn't had Elizabeth here, he likely wouldn't be trying as hard as he was. He knew that she depended on him more than she had back home.
He had a few hours to himself. Well, with Elizabeth. So he decided to bring her to the park. She enjoyed feeding the ducks and playing on the playground equipment there. He decided that she needed some fresh air and some exercise, along with a bit of fun. That was why he had decided on the park.
Elizabeth enjoyed wearing dresses and skirts despite the fact she would be playing and getting dirty. Henry had no issues with this. He preferred her in dresses and skirts, anyway. She likely would be wearing them until she was old enough to dress herself.
He was seated on a bench in the park, keeping an eye on his daughter as she played. She was pretty self-sufficient these days, when it came to playing. He also took her to the day-care during days he had to work, so he knew she was getting interaction with other children. She seemed happy enough. Though she frequently asked about her mother. That part was a bit concerning.
