Johanna was pretty sure that normal people didn't freak out this much over a date. Of course, she wasn't exactly a normal person. Nor was this a normal date. Well, it was, but considering that things between her and Rodney had basically started because the dome had gotten up to more or less its usual tricks, it also wasn't entirely typical. Then again, it was also quite literally her first date. Anything was going to be not typical for her.
It didn't help that Daisy and Darcy's collective reaction had been "If we can manage it, so can you". Much as she appreciated the thought, it wasn't exactly the kind of support she needed -- no matter how awkward or disastrous their respective relationship histories might be, at least they had them. Both women, while she loved them to no end and they were without a doubt two of her best friends in the world, weren't going to understand quite where she was coming from on this -- and that was far more frustrating than it probably should've been.
Way too much about the entire thing was frustrating, and all of it was a harsh reminder of both the fact that Panem was anything but normal and that she wouldn't know emotionally healthy if it bit her in the face.
She'd figured that distracting herself was probably a very good idea, which was why she was poking around at Maurice's. At best, she'd find a new dress for her date. At worst, she'd spent a while harassing Jill. She was studying one dress in particular, though, head tilted slightly as she contemplated.
