Caroline hadn't expected to open up either. It was just something that happened. Maybe it had something to do with the holiday. They did tend to put people in better moods. Either way, Caroline was glad that he had opened up a bit. It made her like him. She shifted her gaze up to the sky. The fireworks did seem magical, didn't they? Caroline smiled to herself, suddenly not minding that he had claimed the empty spot beside her.
The blond looked over at him just as his gaze fell upon her face. She met his gaze. He wasn't wrong. No one should ever take anything for granted in life no matter what it was. "I never have," Caroline replied, giving him a soft smile. "But I know what you mean. I promise I'll savor every bite of chocolate I have for the rest of my eternal life for you." She laughed lightly. "But hey, we could always split a blood bag one night."
