It'd been nice to meet her, someone who could hold an intelligent-sounding conversation even when talking about something so simple as the frustrations of getting coffee. Because yes, never mind that he'd changed and mellowed, and so much else, he still had that snarky and arrogant streak sometimes. Alright, always, though moreso snarky than arrogant.
But even so, he wasn't so arrogant that he wouldn't appreciate the people he met. Life was too short for that, especially second chances.
