Jill liked her job. It wasn't anything terribly exciting, but her degree was related and that was good enough for her at the moment. She was young enough that she had plenty of time to worry about a better job. Probably. She knew how this place was. But barring any of the town's usual shenanigans, she could find her own way in her own time. And honestly? That was a really nice thought after the way her life had taken that whole sudden "the only thing keeping Lissa on the throne" turn years ago.
She was on register at the moment, because she was good at it -- she was perky and personable, usually without being too much of either, and quite honestly? There were a lot of times she'd rather have herself on the register than some of the other staff. She adored them all, but customer service skills were not in all their wheelhouses. That was okay, though, it meant she'd been keeping herself busy through a good chunk of her shift.
That shift was almost over, however, which meant there'd be a Guardian swap in another hour or so. By now it was kind of fun to keep track of where they were -- she knew her Guardians well enough to sense them and know all their little tricks. Well, most of them.
As one customer walked away from the register, Jill turned to the next one with a smile.
