Who: Leo Fitz and Yuuri Katsuki What: Randomly running into each other When: Tuesday evening Where: Walmart Warnings: Probably none Status: Closed/On-going
Fitz had settled into life without Jemma, was handling things pretty well. He still didn't get out as much as he probably should, but at least he wasn't falling apart. It wasn't the greatest of bars to be judging by, but it was something. And they could all work with that. It helped that he had his friends and he had his work to keep him busy. Between the two, he managed to not overthink. He probably thought about everything a little too much, alright, but at least not to the point of dwelling.
And the past couple of weeks had been especially good -- life had felt astonishingly normal, something that had surprised Fitz but that he absolutely wasn't going to argue with. Part of him wanted to know why, but he wasn't nearly stupid enough to argue with a sustained good mood. Instead he just acknowledged it and moved on.
He usually ended up running errands largely on the weekends but one of the girls had been sick over the previous one so everything he'd been planning on doing was now getting done during the week, including grocery shopping. Not that it was overly difficult or anything, aside from the joys of shopping for two small children -- one of whom had very definite opinions on things already.
That would explain exactly why he was at Walmart, in the frozen food section, grabbing a bunch of stuff that made life infinitely easier -- fish sticks, chicken strips, things along those lines. He couldn't help smiling when he saw a particular face, though. "You're in the wrong part of the aisle for frozen pizzas," he teased.
