Though she severely lacked credentials and her cash flow from home, Caroline was determined to find herself a job in her field even if it killed her (funny, because she couldn't die, well except for a stake...). She was currently skimming through what little job opening were available on a pad she'd recently purchased (with a little help from compulsion) when she picked up on the scent of her daughter, Lizzie, coming from the front door. Caroline wasn't going to enroll Lizzie in school until the following year unless they agreed to summer school which she wasn't sure she wanted to put her daughter through. Lizzie was...temperamental at best and could be downright dangerous at her very worst. While she knew that people here were use to strange and different, she wasn't sure she wanted to toss Lizzie into that pit just yet. The summer break might be good for her to simply adjust to her new environment. Of course, it also left Lizzie with plenty of opportunities to get into trouble too. Something Caroline sensed had somehow already happened at that very moment.
There was also the distinct smell of booze, rum in particular, coming off her daughter and Caroline sighed, taking a deep, unnecessary breath before putting down the pad and moving to corral her daughter before she could sneak off to her room in Amy's house. Caroline stopped right in front of the other blond and folded her arms upon her chest. Lizzie's hair was slightly disheveled and was that a leaf in the strands? Oh boy. Caroline pushed down the temptation to sigh again. Booze and a boy involved no doubt. "And where were you?" Caroline reached out to pluck the leaf from her daughter's golden head.
