Sean wasn't a hundred percent sure that meeting up with Dorian was the best idea, but he wasn't going to back out. Dorian had reached out to him, so Sean figured that the least he could do was hear the other man out. He didn't know how well things were going to go, especially since he still wasn't terribly inclined to get over what'd happened, but he was willing to see.
That was something, right?
He got there first, as it turned out, and got his drink before snagging a table. As Sean waited, he poked at his phone -- he wanted to text Alex but he wasn't sure if he should. Rather, he wasn't quite sure how it would look if he did. Wasn't sure if it'd look too needy or if it'd been long enough, or if that was even something he needed to worry about. His relationship experience -- not that this was anything even close to one -- was sorely lacking, and he had no ability to judge how you properly handled... well... anything. Two years with Chris had not done anything to prepare him for functionality in the dating scene.
Not that Friday evening had really been a date -- he was actually pretty sure it hadn't been, never mind what he'd said to Dorian. There was probably a pretty wide gulf between what it'd been and what Sean wanted it to be, and if he were perfectly honest with himself? He was more than a little scared to find out.
He glanced up, taking a sip of his coffee as he did so. He didn't know what he'd been like before, but he actually kind of liked the atmosphere in this place a lot more than Starbucks. He liked keeping arrogant corporations to a minimum in his life, thank you very much.
