Murphy knew that a lot of people had been sad to see their kids go home, but he wasn't one of them. Oh, alright, it was a little sad considering Alex had been a teenager this time, but it wasn't hitting him nearly the way it was hitting so many other people. He knew it was probably because he had Alex. His son was a reality for him; he and Raven would get to see their child grow into the teenager they'd so briefly met.
All the same, it royally sucked knowing that so many people were bothered to one degree or another by the kids that'd shown up. That was probably the one really crappy part of it all, the way the whole thing hit people really hard. Some people hate seeing the kids go, some people hated seeing them in the first place. It was one of the things he preferred about the town, though, because as random events went? It was fairly innocuous.
Fairly.
He'd gone back to work feeling fairly alright about things, not particularly dwelling on them. Murphy knew that'd change, though. He'd be reminded of his teenage son's presence for a little while, the most random of things here or there making him think of the young man. That was just how it was. Which was why, as Murphy went through his work day, he was doing his best to focus on that and let everything else come as it would.
