Sam and Shosanna
"I just wish I knew why. Why was I gone so long this time, why did I come back at all?" There were a lot of questions. He knew Wes had worked on such incidents at WAMM when he had been around, but he'd never come up with any definitive reasons or even working theories as to why some people came and went within days, others were gone for weeks or months, some never came back at all. Why did some people come from one place, but others didn't? There really was no rhyme or reason to the whims of the dome, and Sam knew it was better to just accept what was happening rather than try to analyse it to death because any attempt at analysing it would be an exercise in frustration.
That didn't mean he didn't think about it, though. He was curious by nature. He enjoyed researching and pulling facts and information together to make a complete picture. The only problem was that trying to analyse the dome was like trying to work a puzzle upside down and without edges to define the work area.
"But the point is I'm back. And I'm so glad we've been able to pick up where we left off." That was the important thing. "I talked to Sara about getting my job back at Verdant, I'm going to start working again soon." That was a relief, too. His relationship with Sara was an interesting one, and even though they broke up, he still cared for her. He was grateful she'd given him his job back, because he hated job hunting.
