"Hey," he greeted her with a firm embrace, and a kiss to each cheek. "I'm glad you made it," he added. He was genuinely happy to see her, to spend time with her. The festival was a good place to hang out, to just spend the day together without any real agenda.
The atmosphere was electric, with the performances and the art on display. This is what Madison was about for him. A community of displaced people who came together for a greater good. He'd made a point in the past not to miss a festival or open mic night, or any of the BBQs and other gatherings in town if he could help it. He wasn't going to start skipping those things now.
"It's a beautiful day for this," he said. He didn't care for the heat, because his blood ran hot. He much preferred the cooler temperatures.
