Peeta picked at his food a bit before answering. "Home is... home," he said, shrugging. "I live in a place called District 12. Our main industry is coal mining, although my family is bakers, so we don't have to do that. It's dangerous, and most of what we make goes to the Capitol. They're the central place, the place in control."
As much as he wasn't in the mood to talk about it, Peeta didn't feel right talking about home without mentioning the shadow that loomed over them all the time. "The Capitol are the ones who run the Games. The Hunger Games, they're called. Each year they choose two children as tributes from each of the districts, and we're put into an arena to kill each other. So that tells you a bit about what the Capitol is like."
