Who: Zari Tomaz and Henry Tudor with an appearance of Elizabeth.
What: Match-up.
Where: The park.
When: Saturday, February 22. Afternoon.
Warnings: TBD. Likely low, there's a small child around.
Status: Closed | Match-up.

Henry had taken Elizabeth to the park because he was feeling cooped up, and he had a feeling she was as well. She seemed to know better than to complain too much about it, but Henry knew that she had to be feeling the same. She was young, and likely needed to run off some energy. So Henry decided that the park was the best place for them to go. She would be able to burn off energy, and he would be able to get out of the apartment for a while.

It was a win-win for the both of them.

He was seated on one of the park benches, watching as Elizabeth seemed to be very interested in the ducks at the lake. Not that he blamed her, he found ducks to be fascinating at her age as well. They were interesting to watch, at least. Even sometimes now, he enjoyed watching them. They helped relax him.

"Don't get too close to the water, Elizabeth," he warned.

Zari was sitting in the park enjoying a glazed doughnut. It was not an unusual occurrence for anything to see her out here enjoying her favorite baked good. It might have been a little unusual to see a guy and his kid dressed like historic royal figures if this had not been Madison Valley.

"You must be time displaced royals," she announced, not even bothering with a greeting. This was more interesting, anyway. "Because I'm pretty sure there isn't a Renaissance Fair around here."

She didn't look at the network all the time, so she was unaware of anyone like royalty in town.

Henry looked up when he heard a woman speaking, looking toward the voice. This woman was apparently rather observant. At least, more observant than some of the people in town. Most of the people just saw Elizabeth and himself and ignored their choice of clothing. Or didn't know what to make of their choice of clothing, or something.

"We are," he said, after a moment. "I am Henry, King of England. This is Princess Elizabeth, my daughter." Though he probably didn't need to state the last part. It was likely obvious that she was his daughter as he was keeping an eye on her and everything.

Though it didn't necessarily mean that, and he was fully aware of that.

"Oh, that Elizabeth." And that Henry. Well, this just became even more interesting. Even a royal child was a child, and Zari still wasn't great with them. Aiden was the only child she seemed to like.

"This must be weird for you," she said, referring to just being here in the future. She'd been to so many different time periods, so this wasn't all that strange for her to see historic figures in the present. The Tudor Era was one time she had not been to, though.

"Ducks are still jerks, by the way." They were feisty little things.

"Ah. So Elizabeth has a reputation," he said softly. Yes, he'd already heard that it was she who became the Queen of England. That he'd had a son who'd died as a child. He was already learning quite a bit about his future, and the future of the Tudor line.

"Ducks are awful creatures that Elizabeth is insisting on harassing. Not that I particularly blame her, some of them could very well be deserving of harassment from a young child."

He nodded slightly, "It is quite strange, yes. But it is something I hear I must adjust to."

"That, she does," Zari said, raising an eyebrow. Elizabeth was only one of the great queens to ever exist. Zari admired her in some ways. Maybe not right now when she was a child.

"Yeah, adjustment can be tough, but once it happens, it becomes a lot easier," she explained, keeping an eye on Elizabeth and the ducks. She wanted to make sure the ducks didn't hurt her...or that she didn't hurt them.

"I'm time displaced myself...except I'm from the future."

Henry didn't think she would hurt the ducks, not really. Yes, there was the chance that they could hurt her. But he highly doubted she would do anything that would hurt the animals. She mainly seemed fascinated by the animals.

"You are from the future?" he asked. "How is it here, compared to then?" He was taking this whole people from different periods well, or so he thought. He was at least trying. That counted for something, right?

"Elizabeth, not so close to the water," he said, after a moment.

"The future in my world is a mess, at least in the States," Zari explained. "We don't have a lot of freedom. A lot of things are banned. So I do actually like it here more."

At least back home, she got to join the Legends and get out of that hell place. She'd give just about anything to be able to change that future. t hasn't happened, yet.

"So, have you read any history books, or do you not want to be spoiled?" She was genuinely curious.

"I do not mind knowing about my future," he said, after considering it for a moment. "I already know I remarry after Anne. I know that I am to have a son, that he dies young. And that Elizabeth becomes Queen." Which was more than he had known before his arrival in town. Of course, the fact that he was to remarry after Anne wasn't too big of a shock. He'd wanted to, even while he was married to her.

"What else is there to know?" he asked. "Is Elizabeth a good ruler?" he asked, curious. "I have heard things, but I would like to know what various people think about her rule."

"Elizabeth is pretty badass," Zari said, wondering if he even knew what that meant. He should start to learn the slang, right? She wanted to say something about Anne not deserving her fate, but she kept that to herself for now.

"I mean, she wasn't perfect. No one is." She felt that was an important part of the story. "But she did what needed to be done."

It was kind of nice to be talking about history.

Henry likely wouldn't have agreed with Zari about Anne not deserving her fate. After all, it was because of him that she met her fate. He wasn't one to go back on his decisions, not usually. So it was likely best that she kept that little bit of information to herself. He would not have approved.

"I am glad to hear that," he said, softly. "I am sure she will make an excellent Queen." Of course, he didn't expect her to be perfect. He wasn't perfect, after all. He couldn't expect his daughter to be if he wasn't.

Just don't tell Elizabeth that.

As they were talking, Elizabeth got bored with the ducks and wandered over to the two of them. "Is it time for dinner?" she asked. She rarely asked about food, unless she was truly hungry. Henry arched an eyebrow at her question, "Almost," he told her.

Zari wouldn't have cared if he approved or not. She just didn't feel like getting into politics and arguments with a guy from history. It was what it was. He was here and they all had to learn to live together in this small town.

Food was a much better topic anyway. This was the first time she was interested in what the little princess had to say. "I'm ready for dinner, too. And then maybe a doughnut after."

With that, she stood up. "I'm off to go do that. You're welcome to join me."

Was it weird to make friends with them? Maybe. But she just didn't care.
