Ruby did not know Emma well enough to know if she was always not paying attention or if being in a new town distracted her. For all Ruby knew, it could have easily been a bit of both. Of course, Ruby was not one to judge either. She could easily become lost in her own head or consumed with some part of the environment she was in. While she liked to think she had come a long way in eighteen years with this shortcoming of a lack of attention span, she was not naïve enough to believe she was completely over it. “It happens,” Ruby replied honestly. “I can be the same way. Especially if something distracts me or I just…get lost in my own head.” At the admittance, Ruby blushed.
The young woman sure asked a lot of questions and she did ramble! Ruby never thought she would come in contact with another person capable of rambling as much as she did. It looked like her gift had been spread around. In any case, Ruby tried her hardest to sort through what Emma was saying. Something about Miami? Oh! That had to be from where she was from and it was clear that this was nothing like Miami. She was also use to ending up in weird places it sounded like. Well, hopefully, that trend would help her adjust here. At the name, Ruby shook her head. She was pretty sure she would have heard of someone with such a unique name if they had been in town.
“I haven’t heard of him, but as for Madison Valley, I like it for the most part. Uh, like I said, I haven’t been here super long, but it’s been pretty good to me and my friends so far. Outside of my Uncle, but that’s a long story. Sometimes, this place sends people back and he lost someone so he’s been kind of down about it-“ Ruby broke off, realizing she was starting to ramble into personal territory that she was sure the young woman didn’t care about. “Sorry! I guess I should explain that sometimes this place sends people back to their worlds randomly and that is one of the bad things since people lose people and if something bad happened in their home world, it can be really sad, but otherwise, this place is great most of the time.”
