Who: Jedikiah Price and Jo Harvelle
What: Finally meeting -- might be awkward, might not be, but it's not any good
When: Forward dated to Thursday afternoon
Where: Walmart
Warnings: TBA
Status: Closed/On-going
Jedikiah had stopped being surprised by how his life was going. He had Vanya, he had his friends, he had his job. John didn't seem to be actively avoiding him anymore, though he knew the other man was far happier to not see him. (Jedikiah was under no illusion that the occasional awkward word over the network meant any kind of bonding was ever going on.)
If not for the fact that he had a ward, he would absolutely forget to eat half the time. Since he did have Karolina, he made a concerted effort to pay attention to the state of the pantry -- which was exactly why he wound up at Walmart after work. He'd remembered the list this time, thankfully, which meant it was an improvement from every other time, when he had to text Karolina because he could only remember approximately half of what they needed.
He'd gotten distracted by the coffee, mostly because he needed something other than Starbucks -- a couple of the blends weren't entirely bad, but "not entirely bad" was hardly a rousing endorsement and was generally reserved for when he was between paychecks or too lazy to grab his usual -- and he was one of those people for whom coffee was serious business. Always had been -- it was how he'd gotten through grad school at a young age and how he'd gotten through his first couple years of teaching.
Wrinkling his nose thoughtfully, he looked between two bags of grounds for a moment before giving a distinctly "fuck it" shrug and dropping them both into his cart. They'd be gone in like a week and a half anyway, if that.
