Who: Merlin and Phryne (Closed) Where: Verdant When: Sunday late afternoon What: A wizard seeks a job and gets a reunion and a new beginning Rating: tbd
Merlin became, over the course of a day of wandering, very aware that in this town, as always, one needed coin to live, and he had some very marketable skills, but one he did love to do very well. Thus, seeking out a favorite old living space, he set out to find a job doing that thing he did so well, cook. He had done it before, in multiple workspaces, but truthfully, he'd meant to come work here before. And he was hoping it might be the right time for that.
He expected the same place as before when he came in, and it looked, mostly, as it had. What he did not expect was that voice. It shot a sensation of home, and want, and memory through him like silk touching across his face and his head snapped toward the bar instantly, the door not even shut yet as he eyes sought her out, hungry for the sight he had not even known he needed to see. And there she was. Phryne Fisher. The sight of her robbed him of every ounce of other thought, and of the ability to speak, itself.
She looked in every way, every inch, as gorgeous and as brilliant as she had when he had last seen her. His heart ached as he saw her and he moved toward her without being aware of movement, without being aware of the distance.
When he found himself standing across the bar from her, his voice finally came back, and he spoke only one word.
"Phryne."
It was a word loaded with emotion, and need, and simple desire, but far more, and his eyes burned a solid golden color as he spoke her name, his voice gone low and husky in sound.
