Who: Elliott Gilbert and OPEN What: Random run in (literally) careful the tea's hot When: Sunday afternoon Where: The sidewalk outside Madison Valley Coffee and Tea Co. Rating: Low
Elliott was starting to get used to Madison Valley, even though he had only been there for two days. The people for the most part were fantastic, definitely a step up from the angry rage in New York, though he could definitely see Madison Valley was the sort of place where you'd have to deal with mobs of angry soccer moms and PTA parentals, and there were specific instances where that shizzle was way way scarier than anything New York could throw at you. Plus, he had fishing to look forward to and an apartment that looked like it had been decorated by June Cleaver (le sigh), all the ingredients for a healthy growing boy.
Opening the front door of the Madison Valley Coffee and Tea Co., Elliott stepped out onto the sidewalk, exactly $3.19 poorer on his nifty little debit card. Maybe a trip to the consignment store was in order (but it was so far away...) Partly turned towards the door, Elliott was trying to simultaneously shut said door against the cold from outside and balance the to-go cup of hot cinnamon stick black tea in a his hand. Turning at the least opportune moment, he bumped into someone coming the other way, the tea sloshing onto the sidewalk, his hand and the other person. "Ow dammit! Great job me.." He winced, shaking the steaming droplets from his hand, digging around in a jacket pocket for some napkins, horrified at how much of a Clumsy Carol he was being. "I'm so sorry!"
Leave multitasking to the professionals, obviously.
