Phil hadn't had much time to read lately, but he was determined to change that. Or to at least try. Not a resolution, exactly, so much as it was a decision that he was going to take a solid shot at. That way if it didn't work out, it didn't count as breaking anything. He liked that logic, yes he did. His logic could be twisty and special sometimes, even he'd admit it.
But it was also a chance to maybe pick up a book for Kitty or Jean or Klara. He never needed a reason to buy any of them a gift, he just bought things at random. He liked spoiling his girls -- and yes, Jean was his, even if she wasn't family in the same way that Kitty or Klara were. She was still family and that was the important thing. The most important thing.
He liked to wander aimlessly sometimes, just see what he found. He almost always found something new, something interesting. Whether it was something for him or for one of the others, he just about always found something. Of course, with as wide and varied as his tastes were? That wasn't exactly difficult to do.
Phil had been on his way towards one display when he got distracted by another, which was probably a good thing -- it meant he pulled up short and managed to avoid getting in someone's way. "Sorry about that," he said with a slight laugh. "Believe it or not, I usually pay much better attention."
