Very little in life terrified Lorna other than the idea of not having Dawn or Marcos in her life. No matter how good of a man Marcos was, she knew she had been cruel to him in ways he never deserved. Nothing was meant to go the way it did in their world, but it had and she had to own her part in the mess. While she knew more than anything she couldn’t live with herself if she stayed here without talking to him first, she also wanted to avoid it for a bit longer while her brain tried to work through all the memories. The fact she had kept pushing him away over and over while here when Lorna knew her feelings for him were never going to change. Marcos was the love of her life and no man would ever be able to come close.
Lorna sighed shaking her head, knowing she brought this upon herself since once again her and her damn control issues. “I’m glad you had help and the only schedule I’d have pushed you to stay on top of was her sleeping one. We don’t need her off on her own little schedule when we want to sleep, but you shouldn’t have to do things my way since she’s your daughter.” It was her version of a peace offering after everything since she knew they both loved their daughter more than anything. She hadn’t exactly been the easiest to deal with because of her need to fight her feelings for him and in the mess, she realized Dawn probably paid the price a bit along with Marcos. “We’ll circle back to the people you had help with though for the record,” Lorna didn’t have a problem with Nancy, but she wanted to know more about Erik being around. Her and Erik were working on their relationship; however, the idea of Marcos meeting her dad was odd. Not exactly something she ever pictured happening in their world, but here they were with the baby daddy meeting her father. Oh she could imagine that went well.
Her eyes were resting on her little girl and seeing how Dawn curled up into her only broke her heart. Was Dawn doing this to her Aunt? Lorna didn’t doubt for a moment her Aunt wouldn’t protect Dawn like she did Lorna even with all her troublemaking ways, but it should’ve been her doing the protecting of her own daughter. Madison was looking better now than anything for so many reasons, which one of them was the little one in her arms right now. “Considering she’d probably have a breakdown if I put her down now, I think it’s for the best,” she replied, bouncing her daughter slightly in her arms before focusing on him for a moment. “Let’s go have a seat on your couch,” she said softly, nodding in the direction before heading out, bouncing slowly to rock Dawn. Once sitting, Lorna kept Dawn close to her body while watching the little one, but she spoke softly. Her words were to Marcos, making sure he could hear. “I know I said it already; however, I feel I need to say it again I’m sorry for both how I’ve been here and back in our world. Both with what you know and don’t know.”
