At least he was honesty about why he was there. She liked that, and that he appreciated she wouldn't be boring. He was catching on about the things that she liked, that she needed even. Evie couldn't deny that she was someone who needed attention and validation, she was just glad she'd gotten to a point that allowed her to recognize when she was fishing and when a genuine compliment really made all the difference. The way he was looking at her was definitely a compliment.
"Oh good, then you'll come join me on the dance floor," Evie replied with a playful grin. She slid off her stool and took him by the hand to lead him out onto the floor. She didn't think he'd try to stop her, but she also wasn't exactly dragging him with her just in case.
