"I don't really think you're drunk..." she trailed off though, because she was sure that wasn't the point of his response. He definitely didn't actually want any help from the sound of it and whether or not he needed it was up in the air. Layla wasn't sure exactly how to proceed, other than to be encouraging a bit more. Just a tiny bit more couldn't hurt and if he got very mad at her, he could call attention to the fact that she absolutely should not be in the store to be bothering him.
"Humanity likes to avoid problems. I do too sometimes," she admitted. "But avoiding the problem doesn't fix it. It just makes it worse usually. And you look like maybe it's already pretty terrible." She hoped it wouldn't hurt too much to hear it, although she had a feeling he wouldn't really hear what she was staying. He clearly liked to have his head buried in the sand when it came to whatever he was dealing with. That was rough, but it was ultimately his choice.
