As much as Gilbert enjoyed venturing out into town with Lena or Mrs Fitz-Simmons, he sometimes just needed to do some walking around of his own. Plus, he'd heard there were quite a lot of sales that started up the day after Christmas and, ever the practical one, he thought it best to peruse some shops to see what he might find. There would be birthdays coming up, between his guardians, their children, and the few friends he'd made thus far. School was out through the New Year and he intended to celebrate at some place called Watchtower Arcade, as that was where the people his age rung in the New Year. Gilbert could admit he was quite curious about it, if a bit apprehensive.
He found himself at a crosswalk and he'd just missed being able to cross the street. The importance of waiting for the walk signal had been pressed into him very early on, so he simply pressed the yellow button and folded his hands in front of him while he waited for it to turn. Another person came up beside him and Gilbert glanced up instinctively. He recognized the man from the brunch Lena had taken him to earlier in the month.
"Hello! A belated Merry Christmas," he greeted. "I think I might have seen you at the brunch earlier this month? Held at the Musain?" Perhaps he was wrong, or even that the gentleman didn't wish to indulge in quick conversation while waiting to pass the street. Gilbert thought it only polite to give him an our if he so chose.
