WHO: Adrian Ivashkov and OPEN WHAT: Getting Coffee WHEN: Thursday morning WHERE: Starbucks WARNINGS: TBD STATUS: Open/Ongoing
This year was shaping up to be the best Christmas of Adrian's entire life. Most of that - nearly all of it - was because of Sydney. He was also sober, and had been for at least a month, which for Adrian was a really big deal. Did he still crave alcohol sometimes? Absolutely. He figured he pretty much always would. But he'd been able to stay away from it for a while now. Of course, he hadn't used much Spirit, either. He'd checked an aura now and then, but there hadn't been anything big. No dream-walking, no healing, no bringing anyone back from the dead. And when Spirit's pull on him wasn't as hard, well, it was easier to stay sober. He didn't know if that would last forever, but he was determined it would last at least through Christmas. He wanted Sydney to have a wonderful Christmas, too.
It was a cloudy day today, so Adrian wasn't bothered by the sun much as he sat out to Starbucks to get coffee for himself and for Sydney. He liked coffee, although he didn't find it as amazing as Sydney did. It was a lot better with a shot of something in it - he stopped himself abruptly at that thought. He wasn't going to drink anything. Just coffee. Coffee was good.
He got in the long line at Starbucks, shoving his cold hands in the pockets of his jeans as he waited. The place was crazy - everyone was buying out all those sweet Christmas drinks that sounded great to Adrian too. He'd probably get the sweetest one of all, since being Moroi, he didn't have to worry about gaining weight.
