Who: Lydia Martin and Leroy Jethro Gibbs What: Checking in When: Friday night Where: Gibbs’ place Warnings: TBD Status: Closed/On-going
She’d been expecting him on Monday, and when he hadn’t shown up she’d thought maybe she’d just gotten it wrong. She’d tried to be home as much as she could for the week, always waiting for him to show up, not apologizing for leaving her waiting on him. It was stupid. Lydia wasn’t that kind of girl. She didn’t just wait around for some guy, no matter what her feelings about them might be. And in this case they were just complicated. She wasn’t the kind of girl who stood by and waited for someone to come to her or let a broken promise get to her.
So she let a few days go by and she decided that she hadn’t been wrong and that it wasn’t like him to just stand her up. Gibbs was a man of his word and when he said he’d stop by to put a closet door back in place, he’d do it unless something happened.
Which meant something had happened and she needed to check on him. She went to his house without thinking that she might run into his niece by doing so. He left his door unlocked, always did, and she’d never worried about letting herself in. “Gibbs?”
