WHO: Qrow Branwen & Sigrun Gard. WHAT: Chatting and having drinks. WHEN: Monday evening [backdated]. WHERE: Homebrew. WARNINGS: Not much so far. Will update if anything comes up. STATUS: Closed/Incomplete gdoc; continuing in comments.
Qrow had been quite busy the last month or so. Between his job, dealing with the craziness the dome threw at them, and now being guardian to his niece, among other things, he hadn't really had the time to do much else. And that included visiting Sigrun and he felt a little bad for not seeing her as often as he'd like.
But he had the day off work and Ruby was with Weiss, so he had some free time and decided to use that time to go visit her. So he headed to Homebrew and walked in, greeting her with a grin as he sat at the bar. "Hey, there. Long time, no see. How've you been?"
Sigrun smiled as she saw Qrow walk in and shrugged a bit. “Oh, you know, running a large farm and here without killing anyone.” she laughed as she leaned on the counter. “What can I get you? On the house.” Sigrun didn’t keep company with too many people. Mostly, she kept company with those who lived in the Settlement.
Outside was a bit different.
She liked Qrow, though. “It’s been awhile. Sorry about that.”
Qrow laughed a bit. "Without killing anyone, huh? Good thing you seemed to be doing that quite well. It'll be bad if you didn't." Because he liked Sigrun and the less chance she had of going to prison for murder, the better.
"If you got any new meads to try, I'll have one of those. If not, I'll just take the regular." Which hopefully she remembered what that was. "And it's fine. I've been quite busy myself, between dealing with dome crap and taking care of my niece. Have I told you she's in town now?"
She laughed, “Don’t worry. I’m safe from things like prison.” she outlived every sentence they could give her. She smiled a bit as she went to go fetch a mug of the clover honey mead. She set it down in front of him and sat down on a stool behind the bar.
“This is a clover honey based mead. We’ll see how it goes.” she smiled a bit, “I like it but well I might be biased.” Sigrun was rarely biased, not really. “The Dome has been having a bit of fun with us hasn’t it?”
"Good to hear. I definitely wouldn't want you to spend any time in prison." He liked Sigrun, considered her a good friend, and he'd definitely prefer her to be out and free rather than stuck in some tiny jail cell.
"Maybe a little biased," he grinned a little, taking a sip from the mug. "Not bad," he told her. "And yeah, bet it had a blast," he rolled his eyes. It hadn't been too terrible for him. From what he read on the network, it could've been a lot worse. But he still didn't like being messed around with like that.
She laughed softly and shook her head, “No worries, it’s never been in the books for me. I’m too good at my work to get tripped up that easily.” she winked as she settled again and smiled at him.
“It could be worse.” she smirked a bit, “Good, I’m glad it’s not too bad.” she shrugged a bit “I hate this place and all that, but it didn’t hurt us and that’s a bonus this time around. I’m sure it won’t last, it never does, does it? How are you doing?”
"I believe it," he grinned, taking another sip of his drink.
"And you're right about that." And Qrow knew all about misfortune. He'd seen way worse things that thinking he and everyone else was in some lame soap opera and being overly dramatic. While that was annoying, he had to remember it could've been a lot worse.
"I've been doing good," he replied. A pause and then he added, "I'm thinking of asking Elsa to move in with me."
