Jasper hesitated long enough for her to separate from the group, then hopped away from the bar, moving after her. "Text me when you get home," he said, turning her around with precisely placed fingers to shoulders. "No stops on the way." He pressed the briefest, most invisible of brotherly kisses to her head, and whisked away back to the circle at the bar. It wouldn't do to miss the next round of drinks after waiting so long, would it?
He slid in, conveniently, beside the Vanderbilt, between her stool and the next. "Thank you," he said, for her ears alone, "for being kind."
