http://firefoxmac.furbism.com/ has builds of Firefox optimized for specific processors (G3, G4, G5, and Intel). It at least feels substantially faster than stock Firefox, comparing 3.5.2 both on an iBook G4 and on an 8-core (intel) Mac Pro.
