Genevieve St. Croix
Name: Genevieve St. Croix
Nickname: Gen, but only if she loves you
Age: 221 but tells people she's 25
Birthplace: Paris, France
Sex: Female
Occupation: Artist, but whatever suits her at the current time, usually artistically inclined
Appearance: A classic beauty, Genevieve has blonde hair that runs just past her shoulders, bright blue eyes and porcelain skin. She's a medium 5'5" and has a voluptuous form. Her style of dress changes with the times, following the current trends. She's very up to date about stuff like that.
Personality: Sorry, if you want a scary story? Look elsewhere. She's smart and witty, loving to learn simply for the sake of it. She watches the world change around her with a sense of bemused detachment. She doesn't cling to the past or hope for the future much. She's simply in the present, enjoying life as it comes.
She's adventurous, borderline reckless at times. It's caused her trouble in the past, and will continue to do so in the future. She's overconfident at times, swearing she can take on the world and not bat an eyelash, but she's wrong. She's not invulnerable.
For all her kindness, Genevieve still has a darkness inside of her that she can't always squelch. She tries, she does, and says it's in the name of justice, but in truth? It's moments when her nature has taken over.
Special abilities/talents: She speaks several languages. She's made it a hobby of hers since her transformation, learning language. As of late it's become much easier.
Supernatural Affinity:
Species/Group: Vampire
Power(s): Those belonging to a vampire
Level: N/A
Affiliation/Rank: Mysteria Coven
Preferred Prey: No one under thirty
History: France as it was two hundred years ago. It wasn't the mecca of civilization that it is today. It was plagued with famine, disease, and political anarchy. People lived on a moment to moment basis, hoping for the best but always preparing for the worst.
Genevieve St. Croix was born into this. Her father was a farmer just outside of Paris and took his goods to the city every week to be bought by the affluent Parisians. She led a quiet life with her father, mother, sister and brother. When she was nearly eighteen, she was married to a nice doctor from a nice family just inside of the city. She was nervous about leaving her home, but as was the way, braved it none the less.
She was living with her husband in the city, as she had done for six years past her eighteenth birthday. He was often called away for work, and she was left to her own devices, but everyone knew where to find him. One night, a man came to them, claiming they were horribly ill. Her husband was away, but Genevieve had learned a few things and offered to help the best she could.
Little did she know that the person was a were, hiding from the local mob. She bandaged him, offered to help him get out of town. She knew how cruel the local magistrate was and didn't want that fate to fall upon such a kind creature. She knew nothing with a heart like his could be evil. So she arranged for him to escape on a ship to the Americas.
Of all the people to find and turn her in, it was her husband, saying she was having an affair with the man, that she had been bewitched by the devil. She was to be burned for her crimes against god and her husband. But not before they tried to exorcise the devil from her. She was tortured, tormented, and near the brink of insane with pain.
Help came in the form of an unlikely ally. The werewolf who Genevieve had rescued told her friend, a vampire, of her kindness. The vampiress had seen her being dragged away for torture just in time. She came to her, turned her. Then Genevieve's new life began.
She wasn't evil, and saw that the creature she had become was not either. She was still herself, only stronger, faster, more powerful. The abhorrible diet she had to live on had it's limitations. No man or woman under thirty, no innocent if she could help it, and no one that had given her aide. She would never repay kindness by drinking from someone.
Now she didn't have a husband to lean on, and never truly got over the betrayal. She did however, have time to discover who she was. Intelligent. Strong. Fascinated by the arts. She wanted to know more about her kind. Legends said they were demons. Evil. They were wrong. The vampire that had turned her was proof alone, if Genevieve wasn't.
She left France shortly after her change. Too many people would easily recognize her. She always kept in contact with the vampire that changed her, wherever she went. She sailed all over the world, until that was replaced by trains, and trains were replaced by planes. The majority of her time was spent in Italy.
She met her first coven in Italy around the turn of the century. She stayed with them for quite some time, but never vowed lifelong loyalty. She was too adventurous, wanted to learn. Women were still oppressed all over the world, and the coven was no exception. She liked the freedom that travel offered, but longed for home. She was beginning to get lonely.
Finally, in the 1920's, she went back to her Sire...or Madam as it would be. She was the closest thing to family she had. Now they're headed to Mysteria where there's talk that supernaturals don't have to hide. She's hoping that for once they can plant some roots. We'll see.
Flaws: Curious - Genevieve has to know all about something, she can never just let it rest. Whatever it is, your secrets, objects, society, she wants to know why.
Impatience - Now now now now! Gen does not like to be kept waiting and will do whatever she has to do to get things done, fast, at her speed. Never mind if she's running behind. You better not.
Heavy Sleeper - The Macy's Thanksgiving day parade could march through Genevieve's room and she wouldn't notice. This makes her extremely vulnerable. She doesn't like to sleep if she can help it. Which leads to...
Compulsion - She has to have her room locked five different ways or some such before she will fall asleep. She's very particular about locks, and makes sure she has more security than Fort Knox on her room before sleeping.
Judge, Jury, and Executioner - Her sense of justice is very strong, and often she takes it upon herself to implement it. Not that this is always the right thing to do.
Merits: Luck - There's just no two ways about it. Genevieve is one lucky girl. The fact that she's even alive is proof of that. She's not supernaturally blessed. She's just lucky.
Fast learner - She's a smart girl. It doesn't take her long to pick up on something, particularly academic subjects. If she reads it, sees it in action a few times, she's good.
Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual
