Name: Cassandra (No last name is given or known anymore)
Nickname: (Cassie, Cass, Andy)
Age: 21
Birthplace: Unknown, near Mysteria.
Sex: Female
Occupation: Vagrant? Is vagrant an occupation? Occasional mind-reader-for-hire.
Appearance: 5'8 and willowy, Cassandra's appearance is usually a disheveled one. Her brown hair is kept long and frequently falls in her face. Her hands are usually dirty, unless someone takes pity on her and gives her a bath and lodging for the night. Usually she prefers to wear dresses, though hers can only loosely be called clothes. Most are torn and dirty. Her long peacoat covers most of her in the winter, switched out for a leather jacket sometimes, and the standard issue Doc Martens on her feet complete her look. Not that she cares what she looks like.
When the weather is nicer, or she forgets her coat, long scars are visible down her arms, causing many people to stare.
Personality: Cassandra used to be the life of the party. Now she's the crazy girl people try to avoid or help. Often lost in dreamy thoughts, she'll occasionally comment on what someone is thinking without them voicing the thought first. Or, when noticing two people speaking, will tell one person what the other is thinking. She'd never hurt a fly, though. She tries to be as helpful as possible, as if she knows she can be a burden. She will occasionally have lucid moments, but more often she'll completely disappear, having gotten her attention caught by some ephemera.
Special abilities/talents: She can read auras sometimes. More the colors and an instant reading on the most base of emotions.
Supernatural Affinity: Species/Group: Human Power(s): Psychic (Telepath) .Level: Level 2: You can now read the deeper thoughts of others around you. She will never progress beyond this point
History: Cassandra doesn't remember much of her life before. She's been able to gather a little from the visions that come to her at night, though she usually forgets these before awakening. Her powers manifested as puberty hit her, and she was convinced she was going crazy. At first, it was just answering unasked questions floating on her mother's mind. This led to an explosive fight between her and her parents, with her leaving the house, planning on running away. She didn't get far, climbing inside the family car to wait out her parent's anger. In a few hours, she was soundly asleep. As she slept, her house was burglarized, and she woke to hear the tail end of the man's thoughts as he set their house aflame, her parents and siblings trapped inside.
Immediately, she sought to report the crime, not realizing what the cops would think when she told them what she'd heard in the killer's mind. Surrounded by the ridiculing thoughts of the many employees at the police station and the knowledge of what her family had been thinking at the moment of their deaths, part of Cassandra fractured, and she fled the scene. She ran until she couldn't run any more, reaching the lycan lands of Mysteria in a few hours. Here, she rested for a few days, gathering herself to go back to the scene and find the man who hurt her family. But time was hard for her to grasp, and she had no idea what direction she'd come from. Eventually, having seen no one, and read no minds, she decided to just stay in the forest.
That was until a young werewolf happened upon her. Cassandra was surprised to hear its thoughts, as she'd never read an animal before. But that surprise cost her, and the young, out of control werewolf was on her in seconds, tearing the arms she held up to protect herself to shreds. In sheer terror, her mind sought to protect itself from the animal's savage thoughts and completely fled, leaving her practically a shell of a person. Now she wanders in and out of the town of Mysteria, content to take what she can. Occasionally, she'll do a reading on someone else for pay, but these tasks tire her quickly, leaving her with migraines for days.
Flaws: Lack of Control- Cassandra can read surface thoughts as well as the deeper workings of people's minds. However, she has no control over what she hears, or what she ends up saying about what she heard in front of that person or other people.
Migraines- After a particularly strenuous day reading, Cassandra is prone to migraines. These usually leave her writhing in her corner of the world until someone takes pity on her and tries to help.
Deformed- Cassandra bears the marks of a were attack on her arms. She doesn't usually bother to keep them hidden unless someone points it out or makes her.
Compulsion- Before leaving a room or building, Cassandra must walk in and out three times, touching the door frame each time. A compulsion left over from before she fully came into her powers.
Crazy- Basically, that's it. The woman's off her rocker. Hearing voices, losing her family, being attacked. None of it helped in the fracturing of her mind.
Merits: Foul Taste- This foul taste is what saved her life during the werewolf attack. It also generally keeps her safe as she wanders the town.
High Pain Tolerance- Cassandra doesn't much care what happens to her body. Pain is felt, but she doesn't bother much with it.
Sexual Orientation: Straight, but not interested. Hasn't stopped some people from using her body, however.
