Nickname: Savvy. If you call her anything even remotely resembling 'Vanna'? She won't think twice about hexing you.
Age: 16 but turning 17 next month
Birthplace: Ridgefield Park, NJ
Sex: Female
Occupation: Student (When she elects to go to class)
Appearance: Savannah is a true Italian beauty, petite but with curves that she knows she has and uses to her advantage. She's unafraid to show of her figure as well. She wears daring clothes, some of her own creation. It doesn't matter the occasion, Savannah always tries to look her best.
Her hair is black and runs in slight curls to the bottom of her shoulder blades. She prefers to keep it down, but wears it up if she's going out or actually paying attention in class.
She was born with with two different colored eyes, one green and the other blue. Savannah wears contacts most of the time to cover this. It was said back during the Salem trials that people with this 'abomination' were undoubtedly witches. Well, that wasn't true. But in Savannah's case...
Personality: Savvy is her nickname for more than one reason. She's street smart and tough, but knows when to be charming and sweet. Odd thing? Either way, it's never a lie. Sweet or street, that's who she is. A social butterfly, she likes having people around and making friends, finding that it comes easily. Just don't trust her with secrets. The only ones she likes keeping are her own.
She can come off as too tough sometimes, trying to compensate for her background and surrounds. She wasn't born with a silver spoon in her mouth and if anyone talks about it detrimentally? Expect a fight. She's very protective of the people she cares about, no matter how messed up they are. That being said, if she doesn't like you? She has no problem saying it to your and letting the world know too. Again, expect a fight.
Then, when no one is looking? She's just a teenager, who likes silly things and relaxing just being herself.
Special abilities/talents: She's a good cook. It's in her blood. She's also a decent student when she wants to be, and fluent in Spanish and Latin. Spanish she learned on the street and Latin she learned from books.
History: Just another kid of Angela Moore's. That's who Savannah has been her entire life. Born to a drug addict mother, with thief and dealer for a father, Savannah isn't even sure how many siblings she's got. Her extended family became her family, her siblings mostly following the footsteps of her parents. If Savannah hadn't discovered her magic at such an early age, she may have ended up the same way.
Newly twelve years old, she had just left visiting her father in prison, one of many future stays there. He had been busted two years before and wouldn't be out for another year. Savannah was bored, and didn't want to go home. Her mother had acquired yet another new boyfriend who introduced her to a new round of addictions. So with nothing to do, she roamed the street until she passed an occult shop, with a display of pretty necklaces that Savvy just had to have. If nothing else, maybe she could sell them at school.
She walked into the magic shop and pretended to look around, but the woman behind the counter was checking her out, a strange look on her face. Attempting to distract the owner so she could swipe the necklace, she looked around for something she could fake knocking over. Then suddenly the bookshelves next to jewelery case fell over. Savannah went to help and steal simultaneously, but the owner stopped her. "That was impressive," The woman who would introduce herself as Maureen said, "You have a great deal of power. Use it wisely Savannah." She went to the shop nearly every day after that.
Maureen aided Savannah's knowledge of the craft. Maureen was gifted with the Sight, the ability to see what most couldn't. She knew Savannah was a natural, and she was excelling fast. Though Savannah was rebellious and wild, living her life on the streets, she wouldn't mess around with her magic, not when she learned what it could do to your soul. So once in awhile she'll hex or curse, but only when she believes it's justice.
Life outside of magic was growing more and more complicated. She never told anyone about her lessons in witchcraft, and when her father got out of jail opened a garage to deal from as well, just on the edge of the city, the moral lines she was setting for herself began to blur. Her brothers taught her how to steal and chop cars. She was skipping class more and more often, partying herself into oblivion. She drank at parties, but didn't do drugs. Seeing her mom messed up on them put her off drugs permanently. She lived life recklessly, not knowing where she fit.
One night a bar she was in got raided and they found out who she was, locked her up in DH. She was a minor, charged with underage possession, consumption, and purchase of alcohol. They knew there was a hell of a lot more she had done, but those were the only charges they could stick her with. She was in DH for a week...then Maureen bailed her out.
Maureen was the only person in her life who was stable, had even been able to get through to Savannah. She let her stay at her apartment, and they had a really long talk about her future, what she was going to do. Savannah didn't know of anyone she could turn to, they were all mixed up in that crazy life, and hers was, admittedly, spiraling out of control. She didn't want to impose on any of her cousins and no one in her family had any magic in them, no one could understand her. Right?
Maureen suggested she call and stay with Julianna for awhile. That threw her off immediately. Shy, sweet, cousin Jules? She was a witch? Savannah knew better than to argue with Maureen's visions though, and called her cousin, asking for help.
Flaws: •Curiosity. She hates being out of the loop on anything but that gets her into more trouble than it's worth sometimes. She's the only one who should be allowed to keep secrets in her mindset.
•Savannah lives on survival mode. She's always expecting the next ball to drop, something bad to happen, be it to herself or someone she cares about. She's a pessimist like that.
•She's done quite a few things that she's not exactly proud of. She's trying to change, but is finding that it's not as easy as she thought it would be.
Merits: •Concentration. If the mood hits her (and it does have to indeed), she can take a book and finish it in a setting, noticing nothing else.
•Black market ties. Obviously. She was part of her father's business chain, and her brothers, uncles and cousins on his side showed her the ins and outs of the business, making sure that she could handle herself in it.
•Confident. Shy? What is that? Savannah couldn't tell you. She sometimes wonders if she was born without the genetic component that produces shyness. She knows when she looks good, or did something right? She did exactly that. On the same note, she knows when she did something that was below par as well. She's not recklessly confident, but by no means a wallflower.
