Honestly, the idea of a trip had been stupid to Kyle. Months again, she had been excited as all hell. Not only would they be going back to the States (which Kyle missed a lot, even though she wouldn't easily admit to that), but it would be awesome to go see a Yankee game with her best friend. But it was different now. Kyle wasn't in the mood to sit on the plane for almost a whole fucking day, leaving her even more time in which she could think about Spencer and everything that had happened with that. So many times she had thought about heading up to England to see him, but it just wasn't the right move. It was too soon for things like that, too soon for her to uproot her life to go to England, hoping things would work out. She didn't give a fuck what Kensi said. Yes, maybe Kyle was stupid and maybe it was her own fault, but if she picked up and went to England, only to be dumped, then she'd be the stupid one, she'd be a fool and she'd be back to square one. She just kept hoping Spencer would be back. They kept in touch, they spoke on the phone, but Kyle could already tell that things weren't working like she had hoped they would. They were a physical couple and not being able to see him, touch him and taste him was just started to be too much.
Kyle wasn't the only one hurting from this. She had apparently been too selfish to see that Jonas was upset about it. She had no idea he had liked Zoe that much and the fact that she had left too put her and Jonas in similar positions. Maybe not exactly the same, but still close and, well, misery liked company and there was no way she could cancel the trip, no matter how miserable they both may have been.
It seemed like the trip was just what they both needed. It wasn't as if Spencer was completely out of her mind. No, she thought about him constantly. However, Jonas was great at distracting her with a dumb joke or story or a couple of beers and the two friends wound up having a pretty great time. Kyle was happy. Well, as happy as she had been since right before Spencer left. The fact that the Yankees won just made things better and as the two headed into the bar, she was feeling pretty good.
"Shot for shot, definitely," Kyle decided with a nod of her head. She was pretty drunk herself and honestly, passing the fuck out didn't seem to bad. It wasn't a depressing drunken binge. It was just two friends having fun and getting their mind off dumb shit.
