Thanks again to Senjy for making this list happen! If your entry was left off the list, first, the miss was my mistake, and also please reply here with a link to it and we'll add it. ♥

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
Title: Flying Lessons
Author: Serpenscript
Rating: PG-13 for violent situations?
Pairings: Background Lupin/Snape
Word Count: 7,660
Disclaimer: Sadly, these belong to the woman with a warped psychology. We who write with them now are technically just borrowing them to play.
Written for: Family Fest 2008
Prompt: Teddy's learning to fly like Papa Snape. Harry Potter thinks he's being turned to the Dark side of Magic. Remus is torn between his adopted godson (Harry) and his family. Teddy--with wisdom out of the mouths of babes--will save the day.
Other Comments: Thanks go to TMM and Enigmalea, who both did last-minute betas! Any plothols still remaining are completely my own fault. EDIT: I redid the formatting, so it should be cleaner and I think I managed to get the comments out this time. T_T

Family Fest Fic: Turbulence, PG

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
Title: Turbulence (part 1/?)
Author: [info]firefly124
Rating: PG
Challenge: Family Fest
Word Count: 1900 this part
Summary/Prompt: Severus and Remus are already raising Teddy together and discover that Severus has a daughter he never knew about. (By one of the DE's perhaps, or one of the minor Order members like Hestia.) How does their little family handle this adjustment?
Notes: I’ve had to tinker with some of the Next Generation ages a bit to make this work, but compared to resurrecting people, what’s a little time twisting? ;-) Also, since this bunny didn’t bite until today, it hasn’t been beta’ed or Brit-picked, though I have plagued [info]saracen77 with several Britglish questions that she has very graciously answered. Anything that doesn't sound overly American is thanks to her help, and any errors are all mine.

Family Fest: Crack Drabble Blow-Out!

Add to Memories Tell a Friend

On the last day of Family Fest, our last before we embark on the Second Annual Dark Side of Snape/Lupin Challenge, I thought we could say goodbye to the fest with a one-day drabble/drawble challenge.

At the original Family Fest post are many, many prompts. Your challenge, should you choose to accept it, is to pick a prompt and write a drabble or draw a quick sketch for it, and if you are inclined to produce crack, please feel free! Your offering can be of any length or quality, from one line or stick figures to whatever you can get done by the end of the day, the only stipulation being that you should post your offering as a reply here, not on the community. Let's keep them all in one place, just this once, and if you want to leave someone a comment, just reply directly to that person's comment. It means this post will only count once toward our donation offer, but it also means you will be giving the various newsletters a huge break.

Of course, if you feel that your drabble/drawble has turned into more, go ahead and post it to the community. The key is to have fun and maybe a laugh before we get started on a month of Darkness (ooooooooooo).

Family Fest Icons

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
So... the plot bunnies went away for the family fest, and I can't draw, but I wanted to contribute. When [info]lore posted her icons I decided to attempt some graphics. I managed to get two icons done based on her bases and [info]ghot's art. Feel free to use them, but make sure you credit [info]ghot for her art.

Could be considered NWS in some circles. )

Family Fest: Icons

Add to Memories Tell a Friend

I've actually been working on some of these forever, and thought it might be a good idea to finish them up and add some new ones for Family Fest!

Before the fun stuff, though, I wanted to remind everyone that we have a generous donation offer on the table, so if you can get wrapped up by the end of the day in your time zone tomorrow (April 30), please try to do so! Also, at Midnight tonight, I'll be opening up a one-day drabble challenge to wrap up the fest. However, so as not to artificially inflate the donation results, I'll be asking that all drabbles appear in reply to my post. It should be crazy fun!

The icons under the cut are mostly from art by [info]ghot and might be considered NOT WORK SAFE by some standards. Please click with caution if you are not on a private machine.

And now, the icons! Some possibly NWS- )

Fic for Family Fest

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
So... I had a monster-sized Family Fest script planned, but for various reasons (holiday, stupidity, laziness) didn't manage to write it in time for family fest.
Last night in chat, i felt guilty about not contributing anything to this fest, so I seek to remedy that, by bringing an overgrown drabble.  Thanks to lore for her encouragement, and Woohoo!  for the joy of anniversary month!

Family Fest: A Poll for Participants

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
The Family Fest is open now until April 30. All kinds of creative and meta pursuits are welcome (and we've already seen some, huzzah), and there are no minimums or maximums on the length or size of an entry.

In the spirit of Family Fest, one of our memebers, [info]jiapa, has decided to make her participation in the fest a donation challenge. I'll let her speak for herself here:

"I'm not a writer. I'm a reader, and a rather voracious one. I especially like Snupin Family stories, so I'm delighted to see this fest, and anticipate lots of fun reading, where I benefit from the fruits of all the writers' (and artists') labors.

I want to contribute in some way."

What she has decided is to donate $5 for every contribution to Family Fest, up to $200. What Jiapa would like is help from potential contributors in deciding where to send her final donation. After her initial thoughts on where to send donations, I made a few suggestions. Again, I will use her words:

"I've been thinking about what you said about international charities. All of the four I originally listed are through donorschoose.org, which is an American charity (at least for now). It has a very cool premise, which is that school teachers post what they want, the charity authenticates that they come from an impoverished school and figures out how much it will cost to get the teacher what they want. Donors choose a particular teacher's request from their website, and when enough donors have chosen a particular project, the charity buys the stuff the teacher wants and gives it to the teacher. Then the teacher is expected to write a thank you note and, if possible, get their students to also write thank you notes, and these notes are sent to the donors.

I picked four projects that supported literacy, since that's something that's important to me. OTOH, health is also very important to me, and I don't feel strongly between any of these charities, so it'd be great if the Lupin_Snape community choose."

Now we come to the reason I am making this post, instead of Jiapa - I have poll-making abilities! Hee! Please note at this time, this is not a mod post, just me helping to facilitate an incredibly generous, inspiring offer. If you'd like to read our entire exchange for more information, it's here.

What follows under the cut is a poll with choices on which charities Jiapa is considering donating to, and a question of who the donation should be contributed to. If you're considering submitting to the Family Fest this month and would like to help Jiapa choose, please click the cut and fill out the poll. Only mods and Jiapa will see your answers. I left the "other" for "which charity" to replies so that if one proves to provoke discussion and seems popular, Jiapa can consider it.
