DRABBLES: "Snow Day" (G) and "The Iceman Cometh" (PG-13)
Over the holidays, I wrote a few winter-themed Snupin drabbles and thought I might share them with the rest of you. One is a bit naughty and the other is simply nice, but I hope you all enjoy them both!
Title: Snow Day
Author: bluestocking79
Rating: G/PG
Pairing: Snupin (also featuring Teddy)
Summary: The snow brings unexpected pleasures for Severus, Remus and Teddy.
Word Count: 100
Disclaimer: They don't belong to me, alas. They're J.K. Rowling's creations.
Notes: Originally written for the Last Word Challenge on drachenmina’s IJ. The prompt was to write a drabble ending in the word 'warmth.'
The snow surprised them overnight, encasing everything in glittering, icy shells. They woke to a world transformed by whiteness.
Teddy loved it instantly, hair turning silvery to match the landscape. Only Severus’ threat of withholding dessert prevented him from dashing outside in his pyjamas.
Severus allowed Teddy and Remus to drag him out to play—first awkwardly, then enthusiastically. He discovered an uncanny knack for throwing snowballs, making Remus squeal in a way rarely heard outside the bedroom.
Afterward, they trooped inside—chilled, damp, rosy-cheeked. Remus prepared hot cocoa while Teddy dozed on Severus’ lap, lulled by contentment and the fire’s warmth.
Title: The Iceman Cometh
Author: bluestocking79
Rating: PG-13
Pairing: Snupin
Summary: Severus takes everything seriously, even snowman-building contests.
Word Count: 200
Notes: A double drabble, written for blpaintchart as a Christmas present.
Severus stood back and surveyed his handiwork, inspecting it critically. Although it had been Lupin’s daft idea to model snowmen after themselves, Severus was determined that his would be superior.
The snowman was unnaturally skinny, with sticks for arms and stringy black yarn for hair. Two eyes of black coal glared out over the curvy squash that formed the hooked nose, while a row of severe black buttons marched down its front.
Severus smirked. Lupin’s was bound to be inferior by comparison.
“Alright, Severus, time for the big reveal!”
Severus dropped the shielding charm around his own creation and turned to survey Lupin’s sad attempt. It was, as he’d suspected, nowhere near the craftsmanship of his own—yet Lupin was looking at him rather smugly, as though just barely containing his laughter.
Amber-coloured marbles winked from the face. A tatty cardigan hung from its shoulders, and a comb under the carrot nose suggested Lupin’s ridiculous moustache. Further down, there was… there was…
Severus turned beetroot red.
“LUPIN! That is not the appropriate placement for a carrot and two lumps of coal, you pervert!”
Lupin grinned with unholy glee. “But don’t you like it, Severus? He’s obviously very happy to see you!”
