Pumpkin juice
Severus hated pumpkin juice.
Remus liked it, though, so it wasn’t the first time that the whole apartment smelled like fruits and sugar. Remus always drank it and also tried to offer Severus that damnable liquid that had been too sweet for him even when he had been in his teens.
However, it was also true that pumpkin juice reminded him of some things. Scenes involving Remus. Hogwarts dinners when Remus had thrown some meaningful looks to him over his glass. Sex on the kitchen table when Remus had broken the can full of juice and told him to keep going and they would clean it up later.
When Remus had first slept in his bed and in the morning made a breakfast involving too sweet, too sugary pumpkin juice.
Well, maybe Severus did not hate pumpkin juice so much after all. As long as he didn’t have to drink it himself.
Embarassing musical taste
“What in Merlin’s name are you listening to, Severus?”
The music stopped at once.
“What are you doing here? You should be at work!”
“Yes, but our boss sent us home early because she had something to do this afternoon. You did not answer my question.”
Severus mumbled something Remus did not catch.
“Severus? I’m pretty sure I’ve heard that song before. Isn’t that The Weird Sisters?”
“I don’t listen to them all the time! I just happen to like the beat in the songs!”
“Didn’t you tell me just last week that teens have no taste in music when they listen to stuff like that?”
“Yes and they don’t. They just listen to it because all their friends do too. I’m an adult! I can listen to whatever I damn well please!”
“Of course you can, Severus,” Remus said, trying not to giggle. Then he went and kissed his husband. “Of course you can.”
Bottle of Wine
It was the first bottle of the evening that always got Remus very talkative. Severus didn’t so much mind because he had gotten used to it during all the nights they had shared a wine bottle or two together.
It got better during the second bottle because Remus stopped babbling nonsense and started to get more interesting thoughts. He didn’t always voice them but Severus knew him well enough to see the werewolf was deep in thought.
They had never shared more than two bottles during one evening although Severus would have liked to know what would have happened after more than two bottles. Maybe then... But that was only a ridiculous hope and fantasy
“You know, Sev, I’ve been thinking...” Remus said and Severus listened carefully. Nobody ever called him Sev even when drunk. Never. Remus pointed the last bottle of wine on the table. “Wanna open that?”
Severus shrugged and opened the third bottle.
They had had time to barely drink half of the bottle when Severus found out that Remus got very talkative again during the third bottle. Before the bottle was finished Severus already believed to be inside of that little fantasy of his. This was all he had hoped for and more.
Remus fell asleep before things got really interesting but when Severus felt Remus snuggle closer to him in his bed, (while almost all of his clothes were still on,) and mumble something that sounded like “Sev”. He was sure the third bottle of wine had been a good idea even if he would wake up with a headache in the morning.
Milk and honey
There was always milk and honey on the breakfast table. Severus liked to put just a drop of milk in his tea while Remus liked to drink his own with some honey. Neither was a morning person, at least not before they’d got that first cup of tea.
Remus loved those minutes they spent in silence every morning, each thinking about their own things. Neither could even open the newspaper before tea. It was already a routine, after they had finished their first cups, Severus got up from the table and went to dress himself for work while Remus made breakfast. Every single morning Severus walked all the way to the kitchen door, stopped and then walked back to Remus.
“Good morning,” Severus would say and kiss him lightly. Every time Remus felt a slight taste of both honey and milk on his tongue and, oh, didn’t they just mix perfectly together?
Olympics
“Why are we watching this? It’s even more ridiculous than Quidditch! We aren’t even there but have to watch it from the television,” Severus muttered.
“Shush, this is a cultural event as well as sports! Everyone in the muggle world watches this!”
“But you don’t usually like cultural events or sports! Why is this any different?”
“I thought you might appreciate beautiful, sporty men when you saw some,” Remus slipped. Severus frowned at him and Remus blushed.
“Well...” Severus said and glanced at the television.
“Shall we watch it then?”
“If you like.”
There was silence for a moment or two before...
“How is that even possible?”
“Beats me. I certainly couldn’t bend in such a position,” Remus said. There was a flicker of interest in Severus’ eyes.
“Want to try?”
“What? Now?”
“If you have no particular objection to make,” Severus said but had already turned Remus under himself on the sofa. Neither paid any attention to the men in the TV anymore.
Remus smiled. His plan had worked perfectly.
Nightmare
In the dream it was night and many dark creatures were lurking in the shadows. Remus tried to run but they followed him and soon he was surrounded by them! He screamed for help but there was no one to hear his call. No one to care even if they heard.
Then he saw a man in black clothes. The man drove the creatures away and Remus could relax again. There was nothing to be scared of anymore.
In another dream there was also night-time but the forest was full of people clad in black. They were fast approaching Severus when he heard an angry growl. There was a wolf and the people in black clothes vanished at the sight of it. Severus felt safe again and in his sleep moved closer to Remus who smiled also still fully asleep.
The rest of the night saw only sweet dreams and beautiful images because both knew there was nothing to worry about as long as they were together.
