The Astronomy Tower had been rebuilt since the War, its ancient stones replaced by sandstone the color of golden marguerites. Severus paused on the threshold.

"Severus? It's all right." Remus placed a hand on his arm and led him onto the viewing platform. "It's all right."

The stars glittered softly in the August night. Severus counted as meteors streaked the sky: one, two, three.

"Did you ever wish upon a star?"

He slowly shook his head. "Too much of a gamble."
