Severus had shaken off his hand as they approached the castle.
“How long have you been dead?”
“I estimate about seventy-two hours. I was killed before Voldemort was.”
“I was gone before him, also.”
A group of dwarfs working on the castle drew closer and walked through them.
“They don’t see us?”
“We should become visible to the other ghosts in about a week, everyone else in about three weeks.”
“Information you gleaned from the book?”
“I skimmed the first few chapters before I went looking for you.”
“Why?”
“Why look for you? Death, a chance at a fresh start.”
