Remus smiled, his amber eyes glowing, his face alight, “Severus, I wanted to see if you wanted to go for a walk around the lake.”
“Why?”
“For pleasure: to feel the wind on our faces, and the sun on skin.”
Snape scowled, his face set in dour immutable lines. “Why?”
“Because I desire the pleasure of your company,” Remus said softly.
“Why?”
“Come for a walk and I’ll tell you,” Remus teased, smiling.
“Oh come on,” Remus exclaimed, pulling him out the door. “Put aside that damned Handbook for the Recently Deceased, and come live a little. With me.”
Pulling away from Remus’s grasp, Severus smoothed down his ruffled robes, scowling, “A short walk, then.”
